My name is Tim Clancy, and on behalf of those participating in Team Rockhopper's Extra Life stream I'd like to welcome you to our donation page. In the spirit of last year's successful Extra Life Game Day event where my brother Liam and I streamed games while our friends and family donated $976 to Hasbro Children's Hospital, I'd like to make this year's 2019 Extra Life Game Day a success. Beginning on November 2nd, 2019 at 11:00am EDT we are going to attempt a 24-hour long stream of our favorite games to raise money for charity. The stream is currently in progress!
This is a page for tracking and supporting Team Rockhopper's second year participating in the annual Extra Life charity event!
Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to play games in support of their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised over $50 million USD for sick and injured kids. The money that is raised through Extra Life will go directly to the chosen Children's Miracle Network Hospital. This means that the hospital decides where and how to spend the money to make the biggest impact in the lives of the kids they treat.
Ava is a long-time New Englander gaming to help support her local hospital.
Tim is an Extra Life veteran who wants to beat his previous record for charity.
Liam is a Team Rockhopper original taking an advisory role in this year's stream.
Collectively, we make up Team Rockhopper! We've taken the name from a delightfully-crested penguin species and can't wait to do some good for charity this year. We've chosen a hospital this year which has an excellent standing among charities.
This year, we at Team Rockhopper hope to raise $1,500 for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston. This hospital is a specialized pediatric surgical care center considered one of the world's preeminent hospitals in the treatment of children with severe burn injuries, complex skin conditions, and cleft lip and palate. Shriners Hospital for Children has an amazing standing with charity monitoring organizations.
All children at Shriners receive care regardless of the family's ability to pay. We think Shriners is a wonderful cause and would absolutely love to have your support sharing our stream, donating to Shriners or your own local hospital, or just tuning in to watch our Extra Life Game Day. Thank you for all of the support!
Unfortunately, the hospital we want to support this year is not a part of the Children's Miracle Network. The Children's Miracle Network does fantastic work and has a strong relationship with the Extra Life organization, but we would really like to support Shriners this year.
Shriners is not in the Children's Miracle Network, so we can't perform direct donations to it through the Extra Life website. That's why we made our own website here. If using our page bothers you then please, still consider donating directly to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston.
You can donate right here on this page using the embedded Donorbox form. Any donations you make will be received by the team and passed on to Shriners in Boston as soon as possible during the stream. Please leave your email so that we can send you a receipt verifying the donation!
Team Rockhopper will cover 100% of the transfer fees associated with passing on your donation in full to Shriners Hospital for Children.
Any amount that you want to donate helps, but you should feel no pressure to donate. Just watching the stream or sharing it with your friends does an awful lot of good in spreading the message.
We completely understand! This is just a fun page that lets us more-easily track donations for the stream. If you would feel more comfortable donating directly to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston, you should absolutely do so!
If you do make a direct donation, please let us know in chat!
Then by all means, please donate directly to them! The Extra Life Game Day is all about supporting children in need with a bit of pre-holiday giving. If you do donate to another hospital, drop by the chat and let us know! We'd be just as thrilled if our stream did some good for somebody else.
